“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.”
2 Chronicles 7: 14-15
We come to pray to God this weekend, because He urges and commands us to.
We come to pray to God, to cry out for help and transformation in this time of crisis.
We come to pray to God because He loves us and listens to us.
We come to pray to God because we love Him a little and want to love Him more.
Thank you for your part in this 24 hours of prayer. It is great to have so many coming to pray to our God, to seek His face, to be in His presence and to ask for His will to be done in our lives, our church, our community, our world.
It can be difficult to concentrate for an hour, so there are some helps to prayer below:
Prayer of approach:
“As I draw near to You, God, would you draw near to me? Please teach me to pray. I pause to be still; to breathe slowly; to re-centre my scattered senses on the presence of God.”
