These are groups of between 8 and 12 people who meet on a regular basis, every week or fortnight. The meetings are informal and usually held in homes. The purpose is to help us get to know one another better and to build each other up in our Christian faith.
It is good for Christians to meet together in larger gatherings for worship and teaching. But we also need the opportunity to meet with others in smaller groups. Jesus concentrated his training efforts on a small group of disciples. Small groups have always played a significant role in the development of the church. The New Testament church met as small groups. Many churches do the same today.
Small groups are for everyone in the church, not just for a limited few. They provide the opportunity for everyone, from young people to the more mature, to meet in a friendly and informal setting to consider how our Christian faith impacts on our daily lives.
We would like to hear from you if you are interested in joining a small group or would like to know more about them. Contact us by telephone on 028 9040 3333 or email info@srpc.org.uk
